Kade Pathar


Malhari-Martand is the protective deity of Maharashtra and also of people of  Karnataka and Andhra. Malhari-Martand is much believed as an Avatar of Lord Martand (blazing orb), whose temple is in Himalayas, may be in J&K.
Jejuri
The foremost center of worship of Khandoba. It is situated 48 km from Pune, Maharashtra.
There are two temples: the first is an ancient temple known as Kadepathar. Kadepathar is difficult to climb.

Kade Pathar
  The second one is the newer and more famous Gad-kot temple, which is easy to climb. This temple has about 450 steps, 18 Kamani (arches) and 350 Dipmalas (lamp-pillars). Both temples are fort-like structures.
The main temple of avatar of Lord Martand, Lord Malahari-Martand, situated at Kade Pathar, at Jejuri near Pune, is mainly family deity of Suryavanshi Kshatriyas.’
This is smaller temple, however, is believed to be more sacred. It is built on a small plateau called Kadepathar two miles off and about 400 feet higher.




The myth says that Mughal invader king Aurangzeb had attacked this temple thrice but couldn’t succeed. He was forced to flee as, during mid-night there were series of surprise attacks by unknown veiled warriors on horse back...
