Malshej Ghat (माळशेज घाट) is 130 km from Pune on north and 154 km from Mumbai at northeast.It is mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The place that is lofty rugged hills on Western Ghats.
Malshej ghat is situated in Pune district on the borders of Thane and Ahmednagar districts. Kalyan is nearest railway station near Mumbai. From This Railway Station, we can travel with state buses. Bus Station is next to the railway station on right side. Buses nomarlly runs for Kalyan to Ahmednagar & This bus will stop at Malshej Ghat. For Travelling from Pune, want to use Pune-Nashik highway (NH-50) & take left turn from Alephata which redirect Kalyan-Ahmednagar Highway (SH-222) to Kalyan. From Mumbai, Better to take state highway via Kalyan, Murbad, Saralgaon and Vaishakhare.
In mansoon here are many waterfalls in the hilly regions. Various waterfalls are really worth to see from small to the huge ones on side of Highway.A eycatching amazing view of valleys is the major attraction here. The view from behind the MTDC resort is very famous. This ghat is also famous for dark woods and the animals inside. These animals includes tigers, Wolf, leopards, and peacocks etc. We can also visit the famous Harishchandragadh from Khireshwar village.
