Khajina Vihir (खजिना विहीर)

Khajina Mahal (खजिना महाल ) 1936 Khajina Vihir (खजिना विहीर) was very famous place from last 225 years. There was beautiful construction by Peshwas. In year 1936 old construction was destroyed & New building constructed named Khajina Mahal in 1942. Khajina Mahal (खजिना महाल) South View 1936 Khajina Vihir was supposed to be a part of the Peshwa gardens and bungalow (which is supposed to be buried under Bharat Natya Mandir). And the khajina part stands for water khajina & not the monetory khajina so these workers will be disappointed. The real Khajina Vihir was discovered recently in Pune near SP College (next to SP Biryanis) under the ruins of Khajina Mahal building which was demolished recently. Khajina Vihir (खजिना विहीर) 2007 These historic treasures would not be preserved as this belongs to the builder. So some very rare photos of the well are available which will soon be destroyed most likely in favor of a new construction.

Panchaleshwar Temple

The district of Pune is famous for its various ancient temples and Panchaleshwar temple is among one of them. This sacred Hindu worship place is considered among the oldest Shiva temples in the state of Maharashtra. The temple is constructed in style that matches to grander rock worship places of famous Ellora. According to legend the temple was constructed in a single night by Devas or angels. Moreover, the major attraction of the temple is a giant statue of king Shivaji situated close to the temple. The present Panchaleshwar temple was constructed by the great Maratha king called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja. However, according to local folklore, the temple was constructed thousands years ago and Shivaji only renovated the temple. As per the popular legend, this sacred worship place was constructed by angels in a one night. The temple is also famous for its architecture that displays the Maratha style of architecture. Tambdi Jogeshwari

Tambdi Jogeshwari temple is supposed to be the oldest one in Pune which was formed around the swayambhu idol by , Trimbak Bendre in 1545 A.D. Original temple was small one and surrounded by farms . being the Gram Devata the temple was situated at the border of village Pune.(It was there where it is Today.) Later in 1636 when Shivaji came to Pune to stay , with his mother Jijabai and his mentor Dadoji Konddev, sought the blessings of devi and ploughed the land in front of mandir with Golden plough , signifying the new beginning for Pune. It is believed that a Deepmal was erected where the ploughing was started and one where the ploughing was ended. That time the temple was surrounded by fields and small water current was flowing near the temple was called as Ambil Odha. In the era of Peshwas, who were the administarators of the Maratha Kingdom, the Pune started developing as a city.
